Much of of my time in Iraq was spent on framework patrols travelling in British Bulldog AFV's, a tumultuous activity not always conducive to reportage photography, particularly during "night ops". To keep the project moving, I decided to shoot a series of images through the mortar hatches of the moving vehicle, to provide a unique viewpoint and to gain an overall view of Iraq in the final days of British occupation. Some of the images are captioned with military "nicknames' for particular locations, all of the images were taken between the southern city of Basra and the Kuwaiti border.
